An effort to start blogging again

Much to my surprise in response to my last blog posts, I discovered I actually do have two people following my blogs (hollar Cassandra and Ali) and so I decided to give it another go. Obvi a lot has happened and since a picture is worth a thousand words I'm going to put a few choice photos to fill in the details.

I dub this one the typical AliKat- as that would be our celebrity couple name- on an impromptu post breakup trip to Washington with her, David and Sarah.
All the bridesmaids and Emily at her wedding- it was gorgeous!

Ashton- "Charly," Adam- "Bob the Builder ish," Lady Gaga, Cajun- "A-Rod"

Bevany, me and Lizette.

A place in Provo called Sparks that Tara and I have recently become obsessed with.
What else is new....
I'm currently looking for a new job hopefully one more related to Public Relations/Communications (my degree) I've applied to a bunch that seem intriguing and more challenging to me so I'm hoping one of them works out. With my extra free time (I haven't been working or dating anyone) I've been working on my novel based on some of my experiences and the experiences of others I've observed while being in my sorority. Its a life goal to complete and publish a novel so I'm really been pleased with my progress.
I've also taken up a lot of yoga and playing with my pals in my downtime. Also, with the holidays and my tendency to get overenthused I've been pretty consumed with Christmas festivities. I'm working on planning a Christmas party for the 19th and I can't decide if I'm going to do another of my tradtional PJ/Hot cocoa/Christmas Classics theme or if I want to do a dressed up Christmas party. I'm really wanting to wear a festive red dress :)
Monday, Tara and I are taking a three day two night trip to Las Vegas and I can't WAIT! It was totally an impulsive decision but a much needed getaway. I'm hoping to practice my card counting skills so I can strike it rich hahaha kidding. Maybe.
Tara and I have made it a hobby going on random adventures outside of the greater SL area. It started out with Provo and that Sparks lounge as well as random Logan visits and has branched out to going to Ephraim (we visit some basketball players there, me more so then her but thats a story all in itself) and now this LV adventure.
Well I feel like this may be my longest yet blog post. I'll try to make a more regular thing of it. Hey, maybe I'll have three followers by January ;)

a post for b

well... seeing as it seems b is the only one who follows my blog (and gets real irritated that i never update it and its his homepage ;) i decided to make a post about a little of happenings in life.

first off here are some ugly things we are now selling for outerwear at a&f. obviously they will fly off the shelves when i put them out this week. maybe.
lizette modeling what is either a homeless persons tent, a native american afghan, or a work of art by a blind knitter.

margaux is about to streak through the store... and yes she is wearing a xsmall. dont get me started on a large.

yeah... so there is a taste of the day to day.

in other news b can you please come to utah soon? ok? ok. i'm obviously going crazy here.... look at the merch i deal with everyday. you dont even want to know about the customers ;)

lastly a story about a crazy lady that came into the fitch. i have loads of these and they probably will make my blog posts more lively and reader friendly.

on a weeknight during school, a lady around 35 came into our store probably about 8. this was of no stress to me because we close at nine on week nights and why on earth would anyone stay in our lil store over an hour right? wrong. first she asked me if we have a 360 degree mirror. umm sorry to break this to you but you are currently not shopping at saks fifth or a victim on what not to wear so no. "what about a hand held mirror" no. "well does this fit me ok" *stands back, i wait for her to turn... and no she just meant from the front... isn't that what regular mirrors tell you.

9:05 music shut off, doors locked lady still in dressing room "can you get me a tank in every shade of grey you sell" oh not that grey is one of our three core colors and that is half of the store.

9:09 "will you take the sensor off i cant tell how this fits" no. against policy. no. "i need this sensor off. i will come sit behind the cash wrap let you take it off me and walk me to a mirror before putting it back on" .......... wait... what????

9:13 "will you get me this exact shirt in the exact size so i can see if it hangs or fits differently" um i hate to break it to you but as a mass producing retail store... non of this crap is hand made and done on its own pattern... did i mention- mass produced not custom made boutique...

9:19 (at cash wrap) "this stuff doesnt make me look like i'm trying to hard to be young does it?" buying" button down plaid shirts, plain dark denim, dresses. wearing: a bedazzled graphic tee and true religions. you are worried about what you are buying?

note to consumers: if you have kept me past close this long, i will not try to talk you out of purchasing the items you spent over an hour selecting. just buy them. even if i hate them i will say they make you look like blair and sabrina mixed in with a little aphrodite and a pinch of extra sass. also... a&f sells a lot of grey. oh and in retail stores an identical shirt in two size mediums will fit identically. just to save you some time.

ha ha oh what a life.

Summer is almost over...

Well I can't believe it is August, where has this summer gone? Monday night I got back from my first trip to WA in months which was soooo amazing. Ali's wedding was the 31 (Friday) and it went really well. I'm soooooo happy for her and David they were so blissful and in love. I can't wait to go through the temple myself and receive the blessings inside. I will upload the pictures from everything hopefully later tonight or tomorrow. The next day B and I were able to spend some time with them as well as go to Pike place and such.... it was basically the best day of my life. It was good to get some stuff cleared up and we also had so much fun doing everything else. Needless to say jumping back to the real world tuesday morning bright and early was no walk in the park. I'm so ready to move there it is unreal. For sure I'm going to try to get some vacay days to head out there in sept so hopefully B will be able to come here sometime this month so we dont have to go as long without each other (HINT HINT ;)
Tomorrow will prob be nuts at a&f - next week is our peak week because of the back to school shopping season and so with tomorrow being saturday it will be one of the top five busiest days of the year. I am not excited about closing.
Emily and I decided that I'm the ideal person to plan her bachelorette party so I need ideas, if anyone has any great ones let me know. I may become a slumber party seller so I can throw her one of those... hmmmm.... :) we shall see....
well hopefully pics tonight if not soon....

21....

well friends.... i am now 21... :) and basically i have a plan to start counting cards like in the movie. i know, brilliant right?
but yes, b was in utah the 13-this morning and so yesterday was a great bday indeed. unfortunately, as it usually does, time went waaaaay to fast and he is back in washington. blast. but i will be going out there on july 30 for ali's wedding so it will be amazing <3>
work has been going well. this week is our back to school floor set so it has obviously been craaazy. but we are actually gettting some really cute stuff and our new denim is sick! love it. which is great because the company has a tendency to recycle styles rather than get different looks... so change is good. dont get me wrong we still have about a zillion polos and graphic tees but some things never change.
b and i celebrated one year on the 19th also which, even though it seems like ages between visits, the year went by surprisingly fast as a whole and lets just say i'm looking forward to 2010.
but, that is all for now as i have a lot of dirt to do that i am just putting off... typical.

May End Update

Update... first off the job is going well. It can be stressful at times and I don't love the early alarm clock or the commute but the benefits and fun atmosphere so far outweigh those negatives. Also it is relatively simple to take days off as well as get my two weeks of paid vacay scheduled. So far so good. :) The month has gone by crazy fast and I anticipate June to fly right on by as well. I will turn 21 on the 21st of June and B will be out here visiting so it should be a great week and even better birhtday. It will also be our one year on the 19th <3 crazy how the time flies.
I'm taking an online consumer credit problems class to finish off my elec credits so I can get my actual diploma and it is funny how it now stresses me out when people pay with credit cards at A&F. I realize a lot of people just use their credit cards to maintain good credit and actually have the money but with all the readings I've done on debt it freaks me out for them still. It is scary stuff for sure.
Well I should get ready for bed...

Well... since I have this blog anyway from my online jcom class, I may as well use it.

So... here is what is new with me...

I'M GRADUATING! :) I'm done with my Bachelors in Public Relations, and just moved back to Tooele temporarily this week. I don't really know my plans yet but hopefully they involve washington asap... we shall see...

And other great news... B will be here in less than a week and I can't wait... this has been the longest seperation we've had in our year... sooo it has been suuuper sucky. But now I get to see him again. <3

The pics are from spring break in seattle of course, it is beejan and i at pike place and snoqualmie falls, respectively.
