I love the holidays!

A funny discovery...

So those of you who know me know about my bff slash practically child slash life partner Lizette. We've been best friends basically since my family relocated to Utah (within a year or so) and her family moved to Tooele from the Salt Lake Area. Well... my younger brother Jacob is dating her little sister Helani. I find it pretty comical so I'm including a picture of me and Lizette and Jacob and Helani. Enjoy!

Me and Lizette- note the height difference with her standing a stair above me. Hilarious! Lizette has always said if I was a boy she'd date me... ha ha who would have thought?

On this image I first enhanced the brightness and contrast so it wouldn't look dull. Then I created another level and blurred it as well as raised the green saturation to make the background really stand out. Then I used eraser to make us sharp again and not blurred like the background. Then I used the burn tool to bring out the shadows and dodge on the outside to kind of lighten around the edges.

This is my edited image. I first changed the image size to be smaller for the web. Then I adjusted the brightness and contrast to make it a little less dull. Then using layers I added blur to the background so the flower stands out. Then using reds in hue and saturation I highly saturated the outer rim of the flower as well as the blurred ones in the backdrop. Finally, I used the burn tool to darker the shadows a pinch. :) More to come...
