a spring vacation

Well I just got back from a lovely vacation, I went on a cruise with Lizette to Mexico. We had some super fun times and one hilarious story that hopefully will remain a secret lost at sea ;) But now its back to the cold of Utah and the real world some I am ready to start planning my next get away. I just need a traveling job because I would love it so much. Unfortunately the day I got back I started to have a sore throat and now I have a little cold, boo! I blame the frigid temps of Utah. Some good news though, I've been working a lot on my novel and I'm excited to finish it and work on the ones after at because I have some good times and funny stories to write about (Ali you of all people know this :) such as Lizette's facade of a marriage, hahahaha that totally blew up in our faces again on the cruise. Oh funny times. Well thats all for now.

January

Typical Tara and I

Prior to going dancing with Lizette

Typical. At a nerd/jock party.

Me, Tara and Sari while I was visiting Logan.

She is SUCH a bully.
Well this month has been great, I cant believe there is only a week left. Its crazy enough that its 2010 without it being in Feb. On my last week before I started working again it happened to be the first month of school and Lizette and Tara had made last minute decisions to move back to Logan so I stayed with them the first week and had a great time catching up with old friends and spending time in my old stomping grounds. Actually, Tara has a class with Cassandra (one of my most faithful blog followers- though they are few) and I was able to catch up with her a bit so that was pretty cool. One thing is for sure- Logan is freezing and that I don't miss at all.
Speaking of warmer weather Lizette and I just booked a cruise to Mexico for March. We have our own room but we'll be near my older brother and I few of his friends. I can't wait!!!!! I'm definitely over the cold. And March is when Gossip Girl will finally have new episodes again so it should be an all around amazing month :)
Well i just wanted to do a little update, now I'm going back to my sunday night organizing-for-the week tasks.
PS Ali- I'm bummed I didnt end up coming up during that week. Lets play soon, I have weekends off always now. WOOT.
xoxo

end of 2009

Lizette and I loving the buffet at our hotel- Treasure Island

Looking faily confused by the penny slots haha

Lizette in supreme bliss.

I'd say she is addicted.....

well I reached my goal and now I have three people who read my blog (one who in her own words stalks it...Ali :) so I guess that means I'm sticking to it.
Well LV turned out to be Lizette and I as Tara couldn't and so Lizette invited me on her trip to San Diego with Taylor who ended up backing out the night before and we decided just to go to Vegas. And it was AMAZING. I'm hooked on gambling (kidding I never betted more than $5 of my own money) Although Lizette and I did get approached by two old ish Aussie guys who asked if I wanted to play Blackjack with their money and split the winnings. They then handed me a hundred dollar bill. I was loving it and won $70 off it but since we all split it, it wasn't much but I still felt like a pimp. By this time it was nearly 3am so we decided maybe we should head back to our hotel when we were stopped by a crazy Italian guy who kept calling me his angel and saying what nice skin I had. We thought he was pretty much nuts till he got us into Pure (the night club in Caesars palace that costs $30 to get in) for free and so naturally we had no choice but to go dance. This was just one of the nights. The trip overall was amazing. I got home late Wednesday night and Thursday my parents tell me we are going as a family to Vegas.... on Monday. So basically I'm hooked on it after spending essentially two weeks straight there. And yes Ali, next time you are coming with me. Between the shopping, dancing, bright lights and of course gambling Lizette or "Nicole" which was her fake Vegas name and I (or "Hazel") were in love.

We wanted to go back for new years but ended up taking advantage of being 21 in SLC/Provo instead as getting a hotel there over new years so last minute was a million dollars as rates are jacked and only suites were left. We still had a great time ringing in the new year however. I haven't put the pictures from new years on my computer but I am going to follow up with an additional post for more vegas photos.

An effort to start blogging again

Much to my surprise in response to my last blog posts, I discovered I actually do have two people following my blogs (hollar Cassandra and Ali) and so I decided to give it another go. Obvi a lot has happened and since a picture is worth a thousand words I'm going to put a few choice photos to fill in the details.

I dub this one the typical AliKat- as that would be our celebrity couple name- on an impromptu post breakup trip to Washington with her, David and Sarah.
All the bridesmaids and Emily at her wedding- it was gorgeous!

Ashton- "Charly," Adam- "Bob the Builder ish," Lady Gaga, Cajun- "A-Rod"

Bevany, me and Lizette.

A place in Provo called Sparks that Tara and I have recently become obsessed with.
What else is new....
I'm currently looking for a new job hopefully one more related to Public Relations/Communications (my degree) I've applied to a bunch that seem intriguing and more challenging to me so I'm hoping one of them works out. With my extra free time (I haven't been working or dating anyone) I've been working on my novel based on some of my experiences and the experiences of others I've observed while being in my sorority. Its a life goal to complete and publish a novel so I'm really been pleased with my progress.
I've also taken up a lot of yoga and playing with my pals in my downtime. Also, with the holidays and my tendency to get overenthused I've been pretty consumed with Christmas festivities. I'm working on planning a Christmas party for the 19th and I can't decide if I'm going to do another of my tradtional PJ/Hot cocoa/Christmas Classics theme or if I want to do a dressed up Christmas party. I'm really wanting to wear a festive red dress :)
Monday, Tara and I are taking a three day two night trip to Las Vegas and I can't WAIT! It was totally an impulsive decision but a much needed getaway. I'm hoping to practice my card counting skills so I can strike it rich hahaha kidding. Maybe.
Tara and I have made it a hobby going on random adventures outside of the greater SL area. It started out with Provo and that Sparks lounge as well as random Logan visits and has branched out to going to Ephraim (we visit some basketball players there, me more so then her but thats a story all in itself) and now this LV adventure.
Well I feel like this may be my longest yet blog post. I'll try to make a more regular thing of it. Hey, maybe I'll have three followers by January ;)
xoxo

a post for b

well... seeing as it seems b is the only one who follows my blog (and gets real irritated that i never update it and its his homepage ;) i decided to make a post about a little of happenings in life.

first off here are some ugly things we are now selling for outerwear at a&f. obviously they will fly off the shelves when i put them out this week. maybe.
lizette modeling what is either a homeless persons tent, a native american afghan, or a work of art by a blind knitter.

margaux is about to streak through the store... and yes she is wearing a xsmall. dont get me started on a large.

yeah... so there is a taste of the day to day.

in other news b can you please come to utah soon? ok? ok. i'm obviously going crazy here.... look at the merch i deal with everyday. you dont even want to know about the customers ;)

lastly a story about a crazy lady that came into the fitch. i have loads of these and they probably will make my blog posts more lively and reader friendly.

on a weeknight during school, a lady around 35 came into our store probably about 8. this was of no stress to me because we close at nine on week nights and why on earth would anyone stay in our lil store over an hour right? wrong. first she asked me if we have a 360 degree mirror. umm sorry to break this to you but you are currently not shopping at saks fifth or a victim on what not to wear so no. "what about a hand held mirror" no. "well does this fit me ok" *stands back, i wait for her to turn... and no she just meant from the front... isn't that what regular mirrors tell you.

9:05 music shut off, doors locked lady still in dressing room "can you get me a tank in every shade of grey you sell" oh not that grey is one of our three core colors and that is half of the store.

9:09 "will you take the sensor off i cant tell how this fits" no. against policy. no. "i need this sensor off. i will come sit behind the cash wrap let you take it off me and walk me to a mirror before putting it back on" .......... wait... what????

9:13 "will you get me this exact shirt in the exact size so i can see if it hangs or fits differently" um i hate to break it to you but as a mass producing retail store... non of this crap is hand made and done on its own pattern... did i mention- mass produced not custom made boutique...

9:19 (at cash wrap) "this stuff doesnt make me look like i'm trying to hard to be young does it?" buying" button down plaid shirts, plain dark denim, dresses. wearing: a bedazzled graphic tee and true religions. you are worried about what you are buying?

note to consumers: if you have kept me past close this long, i will not try to talk you out of purchasing the items you spent over an hour selecting. just buy them. even if i hate them i will say they make you look like blair and sabrina mixed in with a little aphrodite and a pinch of extra sass. also... a&f sells a lot of grey. oh and in retail stores an identical shirt in two size mediums will fit identically. just to save you some time.

ha ha oh what a life.

xoxo
